"Trained in oil painting at the National Art School in Sydney, my primary language and mode of expression has been informed by the west.  I became interested in whether I could touch or access my root culture, my mother's tongue through art history, motifs and Chinese mythology after examining the collection of Chinese Porcelain at the British Museum.  These series of works explore cultural aesthetics and were created through studying artefacts at the British Museum and the Jieziyuan Huazhuan - 'Manual of the Mustard Seed Garden'."
